Let me see if I can get the story straight.  The dog has had a lot of names so far in his life, so he’s a clean slate.  We’re calling him Zedd (short for Zeddicus).
Zedd was adopted by a a guy in Austin, near my dad’s house.  The guy didn’t want him and released him into the neighborhood.  The dog ended up on dad and Judy’s porch and they took him in.  Using the microchip, they tracked down the owner.  He said he didn’t want the dog anymore.
Dad found Zedd a new home but the owner had to leave him home alone.  Zedd got bored and did some chewing.  So he came back to dad and Judy.  They don’t have a yard for him and their dogs don’t like wrestling.
As he couldn’t find a home for the pup, Dad asked us if we could find a home for him in Blanco.  Rachelle and I figured that we could take him (we’ve talked about it) and, if needed, find him a home around here.
We asked dad if he could bring Zedd to us and he came right away. Zedd hopped out of the car and he was glad to meet us.  We let Buffy out into the front yard and they circled and sniffed each other.
Zedd was happy to meet another dog and wanted to wrestle.  We took him out back to meet Duke. They were instant pals.  They both love wrestling and running around.
Zedd has been an inside dog (he’s neutered, up to date on his shots, and house broken) but he’s fit in with Duke.  Buffy’s a little wary of strangers around all her beds.  We left Zedd outside overnight and he did well.  I looked out the window in the morning and they were lying, legs intertwined, in the yard.
So now we’ve got a new backyard hooligan.  —Charles
