Friday

It was an interesting day. I love living in a small town. Not only did I sing in the Community Choir at a PEC event unveiling a Historical Marker for LBJ (his commitment to bring electricity to the Hill Country), but as soon as we were done singing, I put my reporter hat on and took pictures for the event for the Blanco County News and Johnson City Record Courier! My photos/article may also be used for the Blanco County Historical Commission.

The amusing part was that I talked to the two women who phone interviewed me last summer for a job there and insulted me continuously for being new to the field (my communications degree is in broadcasting), but today they were super, super nice and sent me home with food for the press, since I was the only press there.

I’m hoping I get calls to sub soon. I’m really tired of sitting at home. I feel crafted out and antsy to get back into the classroom. At the same time, I’ve felt funny all week… not sure how exactly I feel funny, but something’s just off.

Duke and Zedd are getting along so well. They even play tug of war with their Kong bones… without encouragement! When I go outside, they’re either playing with each other, wresting, or sleeping next to each other. This has been the least that Duke has gotten in trouble since we got him!

Upcoming things are Community Choir and Children’s Choir.
